Product Description

This rare collectors piece was only made for a two year period with the name Sipa Sipa crocheted into the footbag. Mounted in the second generation poly bag packaging this Sipa Sipa is a “must” for the fanatic collector. Sipa Sipa was the first mass-produced crocheted footbag to hit the market.   Produced in the Philippines in 1983 for Sipa Sipa Sacks in Laguna Beach, California this rayon thread, large bead, crocheted classic gave Hacky Sack their first taste of manufacturing competition.   In 1982, the first crocheted footbags were sold under the name of Granny Sacks because they were actually hand-crocheted by grandmother’s in senior citizen centers. In the Philippines the words Sipa Sipa mean “kick, kick”.   The Sipa Sipa ®, the Cadillac, the best of the best, was often imitated, but never duplicated.
