For the first time in a decade the World Championships are back in the USA on our home turf. Â And not only that, but the birthplace of our sport! Â The 2017 Footbag World Championships take place in Portland OR, August 6 â 12. Â If you are a competitor, make plans now to attend. Â If you are an interested spectator, make plans now to attend. Â If you are getting married that weekend, good luck with that! Â

Hi footbag fans,
On behalf of IFPAâs Worlds Operating Committee, Iâm pleased to announce that
the 2014 IFPA World Footbag Championships will be held  July 26  â August 3,
2014, in Paris, France!
For 2014, we had three formal bidders, but the first two had to be rejected
for various reasons.
Eventually the RHN Footbag Club from Paris set up a formal bid, which was
voted in favor by IFPA Worlds Operating Committee.

We all have to understand that an early decision of WOC about future
World Championships is strongly related to potential bidders.
It would be awesome to publish such a decision more than a year
in advance. But we depend entirely on clubs and organizers to
do the leg-work and provide much of the talent and volunteer
time to make the event viable.
So if your club is interested in hosting a future IFPA World Footbag
Championships, please inform us as soon as possible (details at
the link above). You donât need to have a complete project plan â if
your club has potential and good will, thatâs a good start!
In addition, IFPA has outlined a Playersâ âBill of Rightsâ, documenting the
rights that footbag athletes should have at the World Championships and
hopefully all other events.
This Bill of Rights guides the organizers and informs the priorities and
choices that are made in providing arrangements, venues, and schedules for
the week-long event.
Expect a separate email announcement soon soliciting bids for 2015.
Weâre very excited to have Paris take the event for the first time this
summer. We have the utmost confidence in the team, including
Grischa and RNH Footbag, as well as other French players, clubs,
and organizers who will help make this yearâs event âfantastique!â

New Footbag Hall of Fame Inductee Announced at Worlds 2013: Becca English-Ross
The Footbag Hall of Fame has another name in their rosters: Becca English-Ross  was announced at the Footbag World Championships 2013!
While our own Bruce Guettich was originally going to announce the occasion, the announcement event got moved forward to an earlier day when Bruce wasnât at the tournament. We did however get time to snap a shot of the two together in front of our sponsorship banner! đ
Congratulations to Becca English-Ross and the other Footbag Hall of Fame 2013 Inductees from World Footbag!

Registration Open for 2013 IFPA World Footbag Championships!

World Footbag is an official sponsor of the 2013 World Footbag Championships being held in Montreal, Canada. Weâre excited to sponsor this event another year strong! And we canât wait to see the awesome videos that come from the Footbag  video contest too!!!
Here is the info from the Announce List:
Hello Footbaggers across the world!
Online registration is now open for the 34th Annual IFPA World Footbag
Championships in Montreal, Canada, from  July 28th until August 4th.
Registration is MANDATORY for all competitors by the deadline of  July 15th.
So please register and pay now online here:

If you want to compete at Worlds this year, you MUST register online and
PAY by  July 15th, 2013.
There will be NO on-site or late registration. Whether you are a
competitor, a sideline player, a volunteer or a member of the staff, please
register and pay here today:

If youâre a non-competitor, youâre still asked to pay in advance to
simplify check-in and help confirm headcounts, but you may register online
and pay when you check in to get your playersâ pack.
You can pay the registration fee by PayPal or a bank transfer. But since
bank transfer fees can be high, and take a long time to be processed,
we strongly recommend PayPal (which also allows you to use credit
cards if you donât already have a PayPal account).
Registration takes just a couple of minutes, so there is no reason not to
do it now.
If you donât have a credit card or canât use a bank transfer, you may ask a
friend to pay on your behalf. For PayPal, simply ask your friend to go to
your registration form, sign in to your  footbag.org  account, and then
submit the form and choose PayPal, and then sign in to their PayPal account
to complete the payment.
You can still change your registration any time you like, before the
deadline of  July 15th. This includes finding/changing partners up until the
very last day of online registration. If you have already paid and you make
a change that affects your total fee calculation, then we will either
refund or collect the difference when you check-in for the tournament in
Montreal.
If you donât have a partner, thatâs okay â go ahead and register and pay
without a partner for each event you need a partner for. Then, when
registration closes, we will send an email to each registrant giving a list
of available partners who have registered so that you can pair up.
It will be up to you to confirm your partnership with your partner, and to
update your registration form. (It will be possible to add/remove partners
for 48 hours after the deadline. But you may not make any other changes
at that point.)

We are so excited for this event!
The world footbag championships are held every year in a different location. Players from around the world will converge on  MontrĂ©al,  QuĂ©bec in Canada this year to vie for the title of the World Champion in the various footbag sports! We couldnât be more excited about this event, as we are every year. It means a ton of new footbag footage will start arriving on YouTube, a variety of new and interesting tricks will be mastered and disseminated among the footbag players of the world, and of course a new World Champion will be announced!
