In the Philippines the words Sipa Sipa mean “kick, kick”, but in the U.S. it
means quality, crocheted footbag. Sipa Sipa was the first crocheted footbag
to hit the market, and they are still the finest of all crochet brands. In
1980 these footbags were sold under the name of Granny Sacks because they
were actually hand crocheted by grandmother’s in senior citizen centers.
Produced in the Philippines for Sipa Sipa Sacks in Laguna Beach, California
this rayon thread, large bead crochet classic gave Hacky Sack their first
taste of manufacturing competition. This rare collectors piece was only
made for a two year period with the name Sipa Sipa crocheted into the
footbag. Mounted in the second generation poly bag packaging this Sipa Sipa
is a must for the fanatic collector.
